Fun fact: a friend linked the trailer the other day. I thought “wow, the acting / directing on this actor playing an absolute fucking nutter is impeccable”. I hadn’t heard of the film before, so I looked out up. Saw it was about Elizabeth Holmes whose name i remembered but didn’t know about. Saw there was a picture of her, thought, “wow, the actress they got to play her is an absolute dead ringer… wait a minute…”
What the absolute fuck?! Did no-one speaking to her realise that she was an absolute fruitcake?
There is a TV series called The Dropout where Amanda Seyfried plays Elizabeth Holmes and won an award for it. I haven’t seen to yet but the trailers don’t seem to be able to capture how crazy she seems … Jennifer Lawrence declined or backed out playing Holmes in a movie saying Seyfried’s role was enough.
Also, Holmes was saying how none of them were actually playing “her” they were playing an invention she made up …
So I figured out what film this is referencing but what does this caption have to do with… Anything?
the caption in the original post? It has nothing to do with the film, it’s just using the expressions of the two people for comic effect :)
What trailer?
The trailer for the film the meme is a screencap from, You can See Everything.
Thank you, pesce be with you my friend
the whole reason nathan did the movie is because she is crazy. do you not know his back catalogue?
I didn’t when I saw the trailer.
i highly recommend the watch if you have hulu!
Tf are you saying?
lol a fruit cake and a nutter used to mean used to mean something totally different.
Used to? The hell do they mean now?! 🤨
I re-read my comment and it makes sense to me. Have you seen the trailer in question?
What is a nutter? What is a fruitcake? what’s a dead ringer?
Dead ringer is an exact look a like. A clone.
Nutter and fruitcake are terms for someone crazy.
Wait, to nut is to wank but a nutter isn’t a wanker?
Nutter, nut and nutcase have been used to refer to crazy people for a lot longer than nut has been used to refer to wanking
Ah so that’s why that items called that in tf2. Or is it the other way around ? :D
They’re american slang?
Not just American (I’m not American).
Dead ringer isn’t really slang, it’s just an idiom. I’m curious what variety of English you speak?
The non-native english. Learnt something today.
american/uk
I’m Canadian and I understood
So what’s this new image macro format that I’ve been seeing around all day?
Trailer for new documentary on Elizabeth Holmes.
