Oh my god I’ve seen bits and pieces of these people on youtube before, like 5+ years ago. If you look up “baby monkeys” on youtube, filter by playlists, they’re all like “stupid baby monkeys” or “ugly creepy baby monkeys”, with the videos’ comments either disabled or filled with “I wish someone would put a shock collar on these forest demons” etc.

Can they not try him for multiple counts of animal abuse? In the US, for some crimes, you’d stack the charges, a sentence might be for 3 years, but with 4 counts of the crime you’d be looking at more like 12.
Even in the US most sentences don’t stack consecutively like this. In many other countries, they never stack like this.
The US is an outlier, most countries cannot do this. Because otherwise you could be jailed for years if you shoplift ten times or something.
The upper limit is usually only used for sentencing if it’s a repeat offender or if occured multiple times.
People get more than that for having a fucking joint on them in some places. Why do we as a society consistently give the worst of the worst light sentences?

I had to read it twice to ensure it was correct, also fuck him for torturing anything let alone our distant cousins (I think? Sort of?) . Still a more odd sentance to read in general and I do like odd. But still fuck all participants nothing deserves to be tortured.
I strongly believe people like this, who actually make and organize those horrific videos/groups, will NEVER be rehabilitated in the sense that they get cleared of these impulses.

The videos were so unthinkably horrific that they offered counseling to everyone that had to watch them as part of the investigation and case. Yet they gave the people involved (not just Poklek, a few other women) the equivalent of a slap on the wrist.
Zoosadism makes me so violently angry. And modern social platforms like Telegram and Discord have just fueled the distribution (and thus production) of it like wildfire. The one that gets me the most is the prolific cat torture going on in China, due to virtually zero animal rights laws.

My advice is don’t risk exposing yourself to the material. It’s devastating, and part of me has shriveled and died knowing what’s happening.
One of the biggest figures (who kicked off a recent movement of cat-related zoosadism in China) got shanked by a woman recently, but unfortunately he didn’t die before she took her own life. Purportedly it was completely unrelated, and he was just a random bystander during a knife attack. Or that’s the spin, because it’s building into a social powder keg right now over there, from my understanding.
I hope with all my being he dies of complications or sepsis.
