A 33-year-old nurse near Detroit helped a man captured by Border Patrol walk out of a hospital and regain his freedom. We celebrate Chloe Freeman’s example. Drop the charge and reinstate her!
Legal support, sure. But in addition to being prosecuted, she was also fired:
Trinity Health fired Freeman and has refused to make any public statement on the events of May 28. […] This non-profit is the sixth largest U.S. hospital system, with 125,000 employees, and one of several Catholic Church affiliated systems that operate dozens of hospitals across broad swathes of the country.
Having previously worked for the “Catholic” hospital system Ascension, FUCK Catholic hospital systems. We used to be a local system (several hospitals in one city) that provided top-notch, academic, and ethical care. The nuns would walk around and hold motherfuckers accountable. I watched everything degrade quickly after Ascension took over. The nuns left, and slowly everyone in leadership, who used to be experienced doctors, nurses, and social workers, were replaced by people whose only experience was in business.
Hope this good hearted lassie gets some local support and legal representation.
