and if they are does that mean they are constantly being raped for years like do they like it or are living a living hell every day?

this comment is gonna look really bad in my profile history but i feel like sex dolls actually like it. much like how toys in the toy story universe want to be played with, sex dolls want to be raped

honestly my reasoning was kinda like: a person that cannot move nor speak nor express anything, just cannot consent even if they like it.

a sentient sex doll is kinda similar to that so it might be rape but idk. i really like Zozano’s reply though.

Then I guess CNC isn’t as controversial as people make it, which I think is fair. It shouldn’t be.

The toys are shown to literally hallucinate whatever fantasy is being imagined. So whether it’s consensual or not depends on what the user imagines it is.

It is toy story cannon that the toys like being played with. It’s what they were made for. The same logic should work for other dolls.

The fact that Ms Peep has sexuality as a non-sex toy would suggest that the toys can be horny. So the sex dolls may not just be ok with it. They might be extremely into it.

Also, who uses a sex doll every day? I don’t use mine every day. You all have problems.

I recall a comic strip from WAYYYYY back where the joke was that a fairy brought a sex doll to life Pinocchio style and the sex doll immediately hung herself. She was a recurring character, because she was functionally immortal though. I think the strip was called “Sexy Loosers”

PLIF was such an amazing webcomic and I’m upset that some of them aren’t accessible anymore.

Way ahead of its time. Prophetic in many ways. Also made you think.

I feel like if you asked that question to Andrew Stanton at a D23 Expo panel, you’d be immediately thrown off the premises and blacklisted by security before you could finish that sentence.

They are sex dolls so it wouldn’t be rape, they would be living out their purpose and would like it, just like how regular toys purpose is being played with

A very firm principle set forth in the Toy Story universe is that toys want to be played with. You’re clear to keep raping your sex doll.

How did this ridiculously stupid question devolve into a discussion about rape? I’ve screenshot this whole page of comments, and some comments are far beyond disturbing. Watch it Lemmy.world - get rid of your bot moderators, because this thread has truly gone too far.

Maybe this is what they live for. They know their purpose and they love their people just like Woody loves Andy.

Imagine a movie plot where Sarah moves to a new state and forgets her vibrator collection. She doesn’t realize it yet but all the vibrators team up to embark on a madcap adventure to reunite with Sarah. On the way they they find a sad discarded buttplug with no owner and they bring him into the gang only to find out that he used to belong to Sarah’s lesbian lover who she’s moving to be with.

Well, as far as I remember, the real toys liked being played with, and were even sad when they weren’t played with. So… theoretically sex dolls would also like being “played” with

That absolutely covers a large part of sex dolls too though… there’s gotta be a pretty major overlap of people who own sex dolls and people who are into things that would traumatise a conscious being.

They weren’t being played with in their intended way. I’m sure the toy story sex dolls would be miserable if they were just dressed up and used to drive in the carpool lane.

I honestly feel like Sid gets a bad wrap. Like, yeah, he’s a bit of a dick to his sister and doesn’t have much respect for other people’s possessions, but he’s also a kid and at his age those things are entirely environmental. Hes also incredibly creative and capable. I’m pretty confident that, even as an adult with a well above average skill in fabrication, I wouldn’t be able to make that erector set spider baby without researching it. Plus, he’s got Barbie legs on a fishing pole, he’s swapping the heads of dolls and dinosaurs, there’s no way those things are going together without custom joints.

Yeah, he’s horrifically maimed a bunch of sentient beings, but he wasn’t aware they were sentient and they’re all still living beings, even the fishing pole which would have been inanimate like other tool toys. He literally gave life to a toy that didn’t have it. Kid should get some credit.

FYI it’s “bad rap” (rap being an accusation or blame, think like how a rap sheet outlines the bad stuff you’ve done). A bad wrap is something you’d get at a restaurant.

I came across it briefly while making a body for my kids toy monkey skull and the craftsmanship is intense. Little concerning that a lot of the 3day prints come with fully detailed anatomy, but I’m not here to kink shame.

From what I remember, kind of putting the subtle hints together; his dad isn’t exactly a good role model. I think I wrote about this before, but there’s a good read between the lines indication of abuse, trauma, and neglect. I might be over-thinking it but having worked in education, I’ve seen that kind of behavior.
