And seeing how often people take things way too seriously and jump at things out of context, it won’t surprise me that post will likely encourage others to do this. Monkey see, monkey do.
The effectiveness of clever on other people is highly contingent on outside factors, over which you have no control and of which you may not have any knowledge; i.e., just because you intended to be clever doesn’t mean you will be perceived as clever, for all sorts of reasons.
Connect your family calendars and explain your kids’ interests. Every morning for the drive to school, have it make a podcast that talks about one kid’s soccer game that afternoon, one kid’s upcoming birthday, some news, etc.
The objectively correct thing to do with a piece of human-made art that is not up to your standard of quality is to feed it through an image to image model to “improve” it so that it is up to a publishable standard
Their LLM is better than them at their day job
Resolving marital disputes by asking ChatGPT who’s right is an appropriate thing to do
Letting an LLM answer every single email you get eliminates the need to read them yourself
An LLM is sapient and has its own thoughts and opinions
Making and eating food is a waste of time, and eliminating it from their day using meal replacement shakes feels “liberating”
Honestly, Lemmy used to be a refreshing departure from Reddit when people were joining because they hated Spez for political reasons, but now people just hate ads and are miffed about the moderator upheaval. Lemmy is basically just ad-free Reddit with worse moderation now.
Overall, it’s still better than Reddit, but that’s a low bar. I’m starting to think that social media, federated or not, is a bad idea. We need to bring back topical forums and ban people for being off-topic and wrong.
Yeah… I’ve been sent enough AI generated voice memos that I’m not so sure it’s parody. Maybe this specific guy, but I 100% believe there’s people out there doing it.
I saw this on Reddit and saw everyone taking it seriously and thought “Ha, the lack reading literacy on this site is insane”.
But you guys are doing the same thing.
This is a parody guys. Calm down.
How are those of us who aren’t chronically online supposed to know some douche on Twitter is a parody account or not?
Because people like this guy literally exist in real life.

Poe’s law teaches us that any satire, sufficiently advanced, is indistinguishable from sincerity.
Or, as John Scalzi puts it:
How “advanced” the satire is is a sliding scale though, depending on the intelligence of the audience.
Poe’s law.
I’ve seen tech bros unironically argue that
In light of that, this isn’t too farfetched.

Starting?
I miss the days of just simple message boards and shit.
This site is for ex redditer so I’m not suprised in the least.
